Aaaand... I am Back! With a Surprise!

Hey everyone! I really must apologize for the lack of posts. It really has been too long of a time, I will be more diligent to prevent this in the future. I've been very busy with stuff that I won't go into, as this blog is not a story about my personal life, as exciting as that may be :P

I did however, manage to get a bit of paint on some figures, so with that enough babbling, here is Eric Longaxe in all of his glory! Hopefully the pictures are good enough for the time being.

At first, I was looking into trying some different skin paints, unfortunately there wasn't any close by so I made do with what I had, and I must say in the end I was glad I did, I enjoy the bronzed look he has. It fits well with the rest of the colors I used. I think he will look great with a unit of infantry at his back, maybe with some trolls to reinforce him as well ;).

And now, a (bad) comparison between Penda and Eric;

 Here, and in following pictures, you can see how much I've improved in some areas (at least I think so), such as smoother shading on the skin, and all around better brush handling, I also got much more comfortable using thinner paints, which might have helped with the smoother shading. I think I got better control over metallic as well.
The title did say I have a surprise so here it is, the Norse standard, Kjartan (spelling?)

 I really was afraid of whether I would like this miniature or not, but once I took a paintbrush to him, I found him incredibly fun to paint, not to overcomplicated, but not lacking in detail either. He has probably been the most enjoyable figure I have painted in the last couple years! His color choice goes along well with Eric's, while remaining different enough to look unique.
I still have to base the two of them, but I am trying to look for some good products to use for water effects, so if any of you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments below! :) thanks
Finally, a picture of all three together! Thanks, and until next time! Adios
